Free Google Business Profile Description Generator

Enter your business name and pick your Google category to get a compliant profile description, a services, menu or products list, and attribute ideas — written only from what you entered, never invented.

This tool sends the business name and category you enter to Google's Gemini API to generate a result. Category list compiled by lobstr.io. See our Privacy Policy.

How it works

A Google Business Profile is often the first thing a local customer sees, and most of it is content you write yourself: a description of up to 750 characters, a services, menu or products list, and attribute checkboxes. Google's rules are strict: no URLs or promotions in the description.

Pick your primary category from Google's own list (the tool only accepts real category names). The tool writes a compliant description and 4-6 services, menu sections or product groups that fit it, attribute options you can tick only if they are true, and a short list of additional categories that businesses like yours commonly add.

It deliberately writes only from your business name and primary category. Facts only you know — address, phone, hours, opening date — are explained but never invented. The name and category you enter are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the text; see the Privacy Policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Q.How long can a Google Business Profile description be?

750 characters. Google's help page says not to exceed 750 characters, not to include URLs or HTML code, and to focus on details about your business rather than promotions, prices or sales. The generated description is written to stay inside those rules.

Q.Can I put keywords in my business name?

No. Enter the name exactly as it appears on your sign. Adding keywords or a location to the name breaks Google's guidelines and can get a profile suspended.

Q.Where do the categories come from?

From a compiled list of Google Business Profile category names maintained by lobstr.io, updated in 2026 — Google may add newer ones over time. Only names on the list are accepted, so what you pick will match what Google's own editor expects, though you may need to choose the closest match there.

Q.What information is sent to a server?

Your business name and the category you picked are sent to Google's Gemini API to write the content. Nothing is stored by SMBkits afterward, and you never enter an address, phone number or hours.

Q.Is this the same as a Google My Business description generator?

Yes — Google My Business description generator, Google Business Profile writer, and GBP description generator all describe the same kind of tool: one that drafts the content fields of a Google Business Profile.
